SMITHFIELD, R.I. (April
14, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce University
men’s tennis team
fell to Bryant College, 6-3, in a key Northeast-10 Conference
match this afternoon.
The win over the Ravens
clinches the No. 3-seed in next weekend’s NE-10 Tournament
for Bryant. The two teams entered the dual match vying for
the coveted position.
Senior Tom Hennessey
(Manchester, N.H./Tilton Academy), who picked up wins at

The Ravens held a
2-1 advantage after doubles play, but Bryant won five of
the six singles matches to pull out the victory.
In addition to Hennessey
and classmate Brian Kuscher’s (Merrimack,
N.H./Merrimack) win at No. 1 doubles, the sophomore tandem
of Ricky Sanford (Bridgeport, Conn./Bunnell)
and
Art Shannon (Danvers, Mass./Danvers) posted a win
at No. 3 doubles.
