The Franklin Pierce
University women's cross country team took part in the Pop Crowell
Invitational, hosted by Gordon College, on Saturday morning. The
Ravens finished in 22nd place overall, led by the running of junior
co-captain
Courtney Garrity (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Central),
who finished in 97th place with a season-best time of 22:35.
Led by
Garrity, the top-four finishers for the Ravens all shaved at least
30 seconds off their previous best times for the 2007 season.
Freshman
Sonja
Foster (Newport, Vt./United Christian Academy)
continued her strong first season with the team by finishing in
144th place with a time of 24:11 to finish second among Franklin
Pierce runners. Sophomore
Alexandra
Edwards (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield)
and junior
Francesca
Santoro (Medford, Mass./Medford)
also had strong times for the Ravens, as Edwards took nearly 90
seconds off her season-best pace with a time of 25:04 (159th place)
and Santoro beat her season-best by 43 seconds with a time of 25:26
(170th place).
