Garrity paces the Ravens with a 104th-place finish
NORTH EASTON,
Mass. (October 21, 2007) –
The Franklin Pierce
University women’s cross country team competed at the
Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon, held
on the campus of Stonehill College. The Ravens finished in 14th
place at the meet with a total of 433 points.
Junior captain
Courtney
Garrity (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Central)
paced the Raven
effort with a 104th-place finish, completing the course in a
time of 23:37.7. Garrity was followed by sophomore
Kristen Sheridan
(Auburn, N.H./Manchester Memorial)
in 117th
place with a time of 24:42.7 and freshman
Sonja Foster
(Newport, Vt./United Christian Academy)
in 118th
place with a time of 24:43.6.
The host Skyhawks
took first place in the women’s race for the second consecutive
year, finishing with 38 points, followed by the University of
Massachusetts Lowell (48 points) and Bentley College (67
points). Bryant University’s Nicole Radzik took home the
individual title, finishing the course with a time of 18:28,
just ahead of Bentley College’s Melissa Nash (18:40).
The conference
championship concludes the 2007 season for the Franklin Pierce
cross country team, which posted three top-10 performances this
year. The Ravens will return all but one runner from this year’s
team next season.
