One of the top defensive shortstops not just in the Northeast-10, but in the region. Tremendous speed makes him a threat to steal every time he reaches base. Must become more consistant with the bat. Has fully recovered from injuries which hindered him as a sophomore.
2004: Started just 14 of his 23 games played as injuries plagued him all season long. Totaled just five hits, nine runs scored, a double and five RBI in 39 at bats. Drew 12 walks and stole five bases on six attempts. Posted a .346 on-base percentage and was 2-for-5 (.400) as a pinch-hitter. Was 1-for-3 with an RBI in game one victory of doubleheader sweep of North Dakota State (3/12). Drew three walks and scored three times with a stolen base in win over Southern New Hampshire (4/22).
2003: Earned third team All-Northeast-10 Conference honors as a true freshman. Started all 47 games played. Hit .271 (39-144) with 25 runs scored, three doubles and 15 RBI. Matched the freshman stolen base record with 15 on 17 attempts. Posted a .348 on-base percentage. Batted .320 (8-25) against lefties, reached base 37.8-percent (17-45) of his chances when leading off an inning and was successful 41.7% (5-12) of the time with a runner on third and less than two out. Led the Ravens with 11 bunt singles (.579 bunt average) to go with seven sacrifice bunts. Totaled six two-out RBI, ten multi-hit and three multi-RBI games. Hit .313 (26-83) with 18 runs scored, two doubles and seven RBI in Conference play. Posted a .281 batting average (27-96) with 19 runs scored, three doubles and eight RBI with the NE-10-mandated wood bats overall. Batted .333 (14-42) with 11 runs scored, a double and three RBI at home. Hit .400 (4-10) with three RBI and a stolen base at the NCAA Northeast Regional. Was 2-for-3 with a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in win over New Jersey Tech (3/17). Hit 2-2 with a walk, run scored and a double at Assumption (4/15). Finished 2-4 with two steals and two runs scored the next day in win at American International (4/16). Batted 2-3 with two runs scored, a double and stolen base in win over Saint Anselm (4/28). Was 2-4 with three steals and a run scored in win over Assumption. (4/30). Helped lead Ravens to win over New Haven at NCAA Regional as he was 3-4 with an RBI and steal. Named NE-10 Freshman of the Week once (3/16),
High School: 2002 graduate of Holy Name High School. Earned Worcester Telegram & Gazette All-Star honors. Helped lead team to Central Massachusetts State Championship. Also lettered in football, where he was a member of a Super Bowl team as a senior. Grafton Hills American Legion squad captured 2003 Massachusetts State Championship.
Personal: Born November 5, 1984, in Worcester, Mass. Son of Andrea and Bob Paradis of Charlton, Mass. Has a younger brother, Brian (10). Majoring in sport and leisure service management, with a minor in marketing. Supports the Boston Red Sox. Omar Vizquel is a favorite athlete. Lists reaching the Division II College World Series his freshman season as his greatest sports moment so far.
