Voted to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Preseason All-Northeast Region squad. Has worked hard in the offseason to greatly improve his defensive skills to go with an above average bat. Enters the season ranked ninth among career leaders with 26 doubles.
2004: Earned first team ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Region and All-Northeast-10 Conference accolades. Was selected to participate in the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-Star Game at Fenway Park. He started at second base and was 1-for-2 with a triple off the Green Monster in left-center over the 379-foot marker. For the Ravens, he started a school-record 55 games and hit .338 (7th NE-10) with 32 runs scored, a team-high matching 16 doubles (2nd), four home runs (8th) and 37 RBI to go with 11 stolen bases on 14 attempts. Also slugged .478 and registered a .414 on-base percentage (both 10th NE-10). Registered 20 multiple-hit and 11 multi-RBI outings and totaled 15 two-out RBI. Posted a ten-game hitting streak at one point in the season. Converted 50-percent (10-of-20) of his opportunities with a runner on third and less than two out and successfully advanced baserunners 47.7% (63-132) of the time. Struck out just 22 times in 201 at bats, with just four of those looking (both lowest among Raven regulars). Batted .333 (40-120) with 19 runs scored, 12 doubles, three homers and a team-high 28 RBI to go with nine steals in Northeast-10 play. Was a combined 5-for-6 with two doubles and an RBI in doublheader split with New Jersey Institute of Technology (3/7), including 3-3 in game one. Hit 3-4 with two RBI against Caldwell (3/18). Batted 2-3 with two doubles and three RBI in game two of twinbill sweep at American International (3/27). Was 3-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in game one of doubleheader sweep at UMass Lowell (4/17). Hit 2-4 with three RBI, including a game-tying homer in the eighth inning in 4-3 ten-inning win over Merrimack (4/19). Was a combined 4-7 with a double, two homers and ten RBI in doubleheader sweep of Saint Rose (5/1). Was 2-3 with a double, homer and school-record matching six RBI in game one against the Golden Knights. Hit 2-4 with a double, run scored and two RBI in game one of ECAC Championship series with Wilmington (5/14).
2003: Played 39 games, starting 30 (including the final 20). Hit .283 (30-106) with 12 runs scored, ten doubles and nine RBI. Was also successful on both stolen base attempts and posted a .377 slugging and .371 on-base percentage. Totaled nine mult-hit and two multi-RBI games and posted an eight-game hitting streak (4/30-5/9). Hit .339 with runners on base, reached base on 44-percent (11-25) of his opportunities when leading off an inning, converted four-of-his-seven chances (57.1%) with a runner on third and less than two out and successfully advanced baserunners 54.4% (37-68) of the time. Hit .412 (7-17) with four runs scored, three doubles and nine RBI in seven home games played (five starts). Batted .310 (18-58) with nine runs scored, seven doubles and nine RBI in 24 games with the Northeast-10-mandated wood bats. Hit .357 (5-14) with a double in the Ravens four College World Series games. Was 3-for-4 with a double and run scored in game two of doubleheader with New Jersey Tech (3/17). Was a combined 3-7 with a run scored, two doubles and five RBI in doubleheader sweep of Bentley (5/5). Hit 3-4 in Northeast-10 Championship game against UMass Lowell (5/11).
High School: 2002 graduate of Londonderry High School. Four year letterwinner served as team captain and earned team's Offensive and Defensive MVP awards. Two-time American Legion All-State selection. Won the home run derby while a participant at the State American Legion All-Star game. Hit five-for-seven with a walk-off grand slam against Nashua during the Legion season.
Personal: Born January 20, 1984, in Nashua. Son of Mike and Susan Chambers of Londonderry. Has a sister, Karen (34), and brother, Eric (31). Majoring in criminal justice.
