Derek Ingui (Sterling, Mass./University of Tampa)
of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team was named the
Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference
announced on Monday afternoon.
Ingui hit a combined
.429 (9-for-21) with four runs scored, a home run and four runs
batted in as the Ravens won three of their four games last week. He
began the week with a 3-for-6 effort against Lynn University, then
followed up with his first collegiate home run in a win over Nova
Southeastern University on Wednesday.
Ingui then hit .500
(5-for-10) in his final two games of the week, a two-day sweep of
Palm Beach Atlantic University The designated hitter went 2-for-6
in Thursday’s win and 3-for-4 in Friday’s win, while adding a run
scored and an RBI in each game.
Franklin Pierce (13-2,
0-0 NE-10), ranked fifth in this week’s pingbaseball.com Div. II
poll, sixth in the latest NCBWA rankings and eighth in this week’s
Collegiate Baseball magazine poll, begins its Northeast-10
Conference schedule this week, as the Ravens start a three-game
series with Southern Connecticut State University today at 3:30 p.m.
