to a key 8-1 victory over Southern Connecticut State University last
Tuesday. He struck out a career-best 18 Southern Connecticut batters,
just two shy of the program record of 20 strikeouts set by Justin

Chris Shank’s season-opening no-hitter on March 9, 2002. It also
marks the first no-hitter for a Ravens pitcher against a Division II
opponent in program history.

45 strikeouts and 15 walks in 27.0 innings over five appearances, four
starts, for Franklin Pierce. Opposing batters are hitting a mere .114
against him this spring. Fournier has posted a 13-5 career record with
a 2.94 ERA, 165 strikeouts (5th in program history) and 84
walks in 131.2 career innings pitched. Franklin Pierce (17-7, 2-3 NE-10), ranked No. 25 in this week’s Collegiate Baseball magazine Division II poll, is back in action tomorrow afternoon when it visits Bryant University at 3:30 p.m. Fournier is slated to make the start in that contest.
