Duplissie Named NE-10
Player of the Week

Ravens senior All-American earns award
for first time this season, second of career

RINDGE, N.H. (March 27, 2006) – Franklin Pierce senior All-American Bryan Duplissie (East Swanzey, N.H./Monadnock Regional) was named the Northeast-10 Conference’s Baseball Player of the Week today. The award marks the third time this season a Franklin Pierce player has been named Player of the Week in the NE-10.

Duplissie, who earns the second Player of the Week award of his career and first this season, led Franklin Pierce’s offensive attack over its six-game southern swing last week. The senior All-American hit .391 (9-for-23) and led the Ravens with ten runs scored, four home runs (a grand slam) and 14 RBI to go with two doubles and a stolen base. Duplissie slugged 1.000, posted a .464 on-base percentage and also earned a win in his lone start of the week on the mound.

Duplissie opened the week by hitting 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Franklin Pierce’s tough 9-8 loss at No. 1-ranked University of Tampa on Tuesday. He was 2-4 with a homer, stolen base, three runs scored and two RBI in the Ravens 8-3 win at Florida Tech. Duplissie batted a combined 4-for-8 with two doubles, a homer, four runs scored and eight RBI in Saturday’s doubleheader split with Nova Southeastern University, receiving votes in last week’s Collegiate Baseball poll. In addition to earning the win in game two of the NSU twin bill, he hit 3-4 with a grand slam, three runs scored and seven RBI.

Duplissie leads Franklin Pierce through 19 games this season with seven home runs and 28 RBI to go with a .361 (26-for-72) batting average (5th on team), 23 runs scored (T-3rd), six doubles (4th), a triple and five stolen bases. He has posted a .764 slugging percentage (2nd), .402 on-base percentage and converted 80-percent (8-of-10) of his opportunities

with a runner on third and less than two out. Duplissie leads the Ravens with 11 two-out RBI and six multi-RBI games to go with nine multi-hit performances (5th).

Duplissie has made five starts on the mound this season and is 3-1 (winning his last three decisions) with a 4.87 ERA, 15 strikeouts and just seven walks over 20.1 innings of work.

Duplissie, a transfer from Wheaton (Mass.) College prior to the 2005 season, is the reigning Northeast-10 Player of the Year. In just 65 games played at Franklin Pierce he ranks eighth in program history with 18 home runs, to go with a .313 career batting average, 51 runs scored, 20 doubles and 77 RBI. On the mound, Duplissie has posted a 9-2 record and 2.50 ERA with 82 strikeouts and just 33 walks over 97.1 innings.

Franklin Pierce (15-4, 0-0 NE-10), off to its best start in program history, is ranked 11th in this week’s Collegiate Baseball magazine Division II Coaches Poll. The Ravens schedule doesn’t get any easier as they open their NE-10 slate this week with a two-game home and home series with defending Northeast Regional champions Southern Connecticut State University (13-6, 2-0 NE-10) in a rematch of last year’s NCAA Northeast Regional championship. The two teams square off at Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field tomorrow at 3 p.m., before heading to New Haven, Conn., for the rematch on Thursday afternoon (3 p.m.).
