Washed Out at Saint
Anselm
Ravens see 3-0 lead in the fourth
inning wiped out
MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 3, 2002)
- Franklin Pierce College's baseball game at Northeast-10
Conference rival Saint Anselm College was rained out this
afternoon.
Franklin Pierce held a 3-0 lead in
the fourth inning when downpours made the field unplayable.
Ravens starter Chris Shank (Westminster, Mass./Oakmont
Regional) kept the Hawks off the scoreboard and FP
scored three unearned runs to stake out a lead.
Freshman Eric Cavers (Otisfield,
Maine/Oxford Hills) laced a two-out single down
the leftfield line and advanced to second on an error by
the Saint Anselm leftfielder. Cavers scored on a bloop single
by junior Dan Close (Leominster, Mass./Leominster). FP
tacked on two more runs
in the third as two runs scored when senior Scott
Loiseau (Worcester, Mass./St. Peter Marian) reached
on an error.
The game will be made up in full
on Friday, April 5, in Manchester at 3 p.m.
FP
(6-7, 2-1 NE-10) will host Teikyo
Post University tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The game
has been moved to Fall Mountain Regional High School in
Langdon, N.H., due to the condition of Crystal Field.
