Franklin
Pierce Freshmen Honored Forward Danielle D’Ettorre (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario/St. Mary’s) was selected as the NE-10’s women’s basketball Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season, while point guard Darryl Minifield (Brookline, Mass./Brookline) was tabbed as the Conference’s men’s basketball Freshman of the Week for the third time.
D’Ettorre
was selected as Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season
after she averaged 10.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and a steal in
three games for the Ravens last week. D’Ettorre shot 43.5-percent
(10-23) from the field, including four-of-eight from three-point
range, and converted 8-of-her-9 (88.9%) free-throw attempts for the
week.
D’Ettorre averaged 13 points, 7.5 rebounds, two assists and
1.5 steals in two games against No. 12-ranked Merrimack College last
week. She opened the week with 13 points, six rebounds and three
assists at Merrimack on Tuesday and then totaled a team-best 13
points, a game-high nine rebounds and three steals in the rematch with
the Warriors on Thursday at home. D’Ettorre rounded out the week
with six points and two boards in 15 minutes of action in a tough
50-47 loss to Bryant College on Saturday.
D’Ettorre leads the Ravens in scoring this season at 11.4

shooting 41.6% (92-221) from the field for the year as well as a
team-best 78.4% (76-97) from the free-throw line. Franklin Pierce (7-17, 3-17 NE-10) returns to action on Wednesday night when it hosts Assumption College, ranked seventh in the Northeast Region, at 5:30 p.m. The Ravens likely need wins over both the Greyhounds and American International College, ranked sixth in the Region, on Saturday to have a shot at earning a spot in the NE-10 Tournament for the third-straight season.
Minifield
earns the Franklin Pierce men’s seventh Freshman of the Week award
this season. He averaged 8.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.7
steals in a 2-1 week for the Ravens. Minifield hit 53.3% (8-15) of his
shots from the field, including 5-6 (83.3%) from three-point range,
and converted 5-6 free-throw attempts.
Minifield totaled 11 points, four rebounds and five assists in
the Ravens postseason clinching 70-61 win at Bryant College on
Saturday. He opened the week with five points, five boards and a
season-high seven assists as Franklin Pierce edged Merrimack, 60-59,
on Tuesday. He followed that up with ten points, five rebounds, five
assists and four steals against the Warriors on Thursday.
Minifield is averaging 6.5 points, 5.5 rebounds (team-best 6.2
