Where can I send my gift?
There are many ways to make a gift to Franklin Pierce:
Make a credit card gift or pledge online: Our
online gift form is the easiest and quickest way to
make your contribution. We accept VISA, Mastercard and Discover.
Make your gift by check: You can make a gift by simply writing a
check payable to “Franklin Pierce College,” and sending it to:
Franklin Pierce College
Development Office
Peterson Hall
20 College Road
Rindge, NH 03461-0060
It is also helpful to us if you complete the
donation form
and send that along with your check as well.
Why are unrestricted gifts so important?
Unrestricted gifts can be used wherever the need is greatest.
This gives the College the flexibility to respond to urgent
situations as they arise. For example, if traditional sources of
funding are not available for lab supplies one year,
unrestricted gifts can fill in the gap. Unrestricted gifts
ensure that Franklin Pierce can provide essential programs and
services regardless of the economic climate or the funding
cycles of private foundations or government grants.
How do I make a gift of stock?
Long-term appreciated securities can be used to make a gift to
the College, thus avoiding capital gains tax on the securities
that would result if the same stock was sold and you gave the
proceeds to the College. A donor is entitled to a charitable tax
deduction equal to the value of the securities on the date of
transfer to Franklin Pierce.
Stock is best transferred to the College, and not sold by the
donor. If you are interested in making a gift of stock, please
let us know what type of stock will be transferred, the number
of shares and the approximate amount. Please call us at (603)
899-1132 to discuss making a gift of securities.
How do matching gifts work?
Many companies will match charitable donations made by their
employees. Retirees, as well as spouses and domestic partners of
employees are often eligible for corporate matching gifts. You
can check with your human resources or personnel office to find
out if your company has a matching gift program. Usually, the
process for matching a gift is a simple form that you send to
Franklin Pierce along with your gift.
Can I designate my gift for a specific
purpose?
Yes, certainly! When making your gift, just let us know where
you would like your support directed. Please be sure to provide
us with your phone number so we can contact you if we have any
questions.
How do I make a current-year pledge?
You can make a current-year pledge now online using our
pledge
form. Pledge reminders will be sent
monthly unless otherwise specified.
If I can only afford a small gift, is it
worth it to the College?
Yes! Every gift counts and even small gifts make a big
difference to the College through the Annual Fund. Not only do
these gifts provide support for essential College programs and
functions, alumni giving participation is one of the main
criteria for college rankings such as the US News & World Report
of America’s Best Colleges. In addition, many corporations and
foundations use alumni giving participation as a factor in
deciding whether or not to fund grant requests.
